Yes, it had been noted earlier that it is extremely difficult to find recorded version of 3x40 jigs. There were a couple of responses saying that there is at least one such recording on a new CD, "Old Favourites and Odd Couples." It also has a 3x40 reel, I note. I haven't heard the CD, so I don't know how well those particular tunes will work, however. Although I originally conceived it as a 3x40 jig, I certainly have no objection to this dance being done as an 8x40 jig in a 4-couple set. It should work just fine. Interestingly, it had also never occured to me that the 3,1,2 progression has thus far only appeared in strathspeys.
