Jim Healy asks >Is there anyone out there who actually likes the Tournee?< I must confess that I am another one who likes the Tournee (Sorry Silvia). In fact I incorporated it in a dance that I wrote some years ago called Jessie Stewart's Strathspey, which appears in a Booklet of five of my dances called Theme and Variations. Though not listed in the TACBooks listing it is available from them (they were out of stock when they put out the current listing). When I wrote the dance I felt that it would be nice if the couples doing the Tournee were positioned and aimed properly by the previous figure. Thus a four couple Strathspey resulted with the first couple casting down into second place and the fourth couple casting up into third place at the end of the previous figure, leading directly into the beginning of a Tournee. I believe that the Tournee first appeared in Bob Campbell's "From Scotias Shores we're Noo Awa". By the way, Jessie Stewart was my Mother-in-law and I loved her dearly. No Mother-in law jokes here please! Further aside! I do enjoy Brian Mackintosh's comments very much. Find that I am usually in agreement. Regards Brian. Ben Stein 102510,xxx@xxxxxxxxxx.xxx
