First of all thank you Anselm for the website and maintaining the mailing list. It takes a lot of time and effort to do it and we are all grateful. I did not agree with Hamish's attack on the list or the website, nor with the language used to express it. It is better as a mailing list for the reasons you describe. I can easily get the e-mails and reply to them on the BlackBerry which is a nightmare on a 'conventional' forum. However I don't really agree that suggesting we discuss the merits of four couple sets (even in the language used) is in some way 'stirring'. Unless I am mistaken this is not a site where we only discuss the 'correct' way to dance Mairi's Wedding (it is clearly a better dance passing by the right shoulder :P). It is interesting and lively to discuss provocative views. Like, heaven forfend, that we might decide to do a dance differently to the way described in the RSCDS booklet. Perhaps though I am in a minority in thinking that. :P (that, for the uninitiated is a smiley to indicate that that is said tongue in cheek and is meant in good humour). Anyway long live the list and I hope people keep contributing even when their views are controversial. So you can see I have a controversial view coming up. Which I shall start in a new thread :P Jo Sent using BlackBerry® from Orange
