Today I received my accaptance for Summer School. The envelope was franked with the usual return address and a super representation of the old Ghillie/crown logo with a perfectly legible narration of The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society in very small print. It looked smart and businesslike. Then I opened the envelope and took out the letter. What a let- down! There is the totally undistinguished new effort. Small case rscds with a black crown blob above and Dance Scottish beneath. It has gone from class to modern 'up to date improvemant' and lost a vast amount of individuality and our hallmark. The juxtaposition make it so evident. Who says that change is always good and necessary. Why do we have to be 'up-to-date'? For a society based on 'tradition' (or at least a particular view of it) it was a totally unnecessary exercise. I'll remain a multiple member in spite of it!! :~)) Regards Ron London, Croydon and International Branches
