Anja, Jim Healy has answered the question about The Seagull. I have taught and danced The Bookworm and find it a great dance. Your problem is that the crossings are four bars each and then CROSS with your 'partner' to meet up with a new person. i.e bars 25-28 1s cross under the arch and cross so that 1L goes to the left and 1M goes to the right. Tha actual wording is "1st couple join nearer hands and dance under an arch made by 3rd lady and 2nd man to change places with them, 1st and 3rd ladies cross in front of 1st man and 2nd man respectively and cast to new places ....." Again, this shows the problems of trying to do dances without the full instructions!! There are some great dances in the 4 Dunedin Dance Books. Why not buy them? Brian Charlton, Sydney, Australia
