Perhaps the dance devisors/devisers on the list will take heed and "go
with the flow" on this.

  If you wish to try a dance with advance and retire using pas de
  Basque, may I suggest my dance "Where Good Friends Meet" from "The
  World Around The Corner".
   
  Personally, I like advance and retire. However, I tend not to teach
  it early to beginners as they usually have considerable trouble with
  the step. Until they have become familiar with the steps I get them
  to walk any advance and retire movements.
