An article in the latest Sainsbury's Magazine entitled 'The 10 Secrets of Happy People' lists number 5 as 'Take up Scottish Dancing'. It continues ' In 1996, the BBC documentary QED conducted a social experiment called 'How to be Happy'. One of the findings was that Scottish dancing makes you happy. The mix of social and physical contact, movement and music, all went to boost the volunteers' serotonin levels, our happy hormone.' I remember an article in The Scotsman (I think) stating that SCD was the most complete form of exercise in that it required physical effort, social interaction and awareness of music. Another reason for promoting our hobby? Sheila
