Scottish Country Freestyle Dancing?

I just came across a reference to Scottish Country Freestyle Dancing.  A 
Google search  indicates that the style is recognized by UKA -- the 
United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dancing.  What is 
it?  Is it a variant of ceilidh dancing, SCD by overexhuberant young 
dancers, SCD after a really good party (probably that should be no-style 
dancing!), or what?

Just curious.
