Especially for Anselm, Thank you for your support, you know me so well. My ideas about Dalkeith Strathspey: Basic rules: lead down the middle and up with right hands; start the reel of four back to back in the middle. At the end of lead down the middle and up, drop hands early enough ( end of bar 7) to have time to cross to your back to back position. The lady goes in front and the man holds back a bit for the crossing. You have time for a goodbye to your partner and acknowledging your supporting couple. Leading up with left hands and a half LH turn at the end makes the end of the phrase and the beginning of the next undefined. Not so easy for unexperienced dancers. I can see all your points about flow, but please : Keep the basic rules! Otherwise we will have a whole system of new and easy rules, that will confuse many people. Success for everybody, Frans.
