Sept. 13, 2012, noon (Message 63105)
Just received this - hope you are interested - if you are in Scotland you may be interested in Scotland Sings. Pia Dear Singers, Resources are being gathered across the nation for Scotland Sings at the end of November (full information on this initiative organised by Hands Up for Trad on http://www.scottishcultureonline.com/groups/scotland-sings/ ). As part of this effort, I am hoping to pool together around 20 extremely easy short songs , from all cultures, that can be taught by ear to groups (from pre-school to elderly) . These could be rounds, rhymes, ditties, call and response chants. If you know any and would like to contribute them to the pool that would be fantastic. They will be put on the Scotland Sings website. Sources of all songs will be fully credited. You can either send me a song as a sound clip, or email words and written melody. Sorry this is such short notice , but if you have the perfect song to hand and can get it to me in the next week I would be very grateful. Gaelic and Scots songs are also being gathered by Steve Byrne. I hope you can help, and look forward to hearing from you!
