The Washington Post provided this link last week to a journal article on
this subject.  I just printed it out, so I can't tell you anything more.

Then search for "dance."  The article is 10 pages as a PDF.

Greetings!

In one of his short stories, 'The Dead Past', Isaac Asimov has a main 
character whose profession is writing academic theses in accessible language 
(for non specialist funding sources). Ahead of his time again :)
