I checked the Journal Graphics database, which indexes transcripts
of news programs on ABC, CBS, CNN, NPR and others; neither gregorian
chants nor scottish dancing showed up for a recent transcript. I don't
know how far behind the index is. It's free: telnet to database.carl.org,
and wiggle through the menus. This is the same company that is shown
at the end of shows like Nova and Nature, "For a transcript of this
program, send $4 to..." etc. You can order transcripts over the Internet
connection by giving them a credit card, I think. Either that or it will
show an 800- number to dial free in the US.
If I have occasion to be in a full-text transcript database, I'll look
again; the Journal Graphics index is only an index.
You can get video copies from the news programs, but it's very much like
pulling teeth and considerably more expensive.
