My faith in the magic of SCD is severely shattered. Last night we did "Da Rain Dancin'", among other dances.
As I write it's 36 deg. C in the shade here at 1850, not a cloud in sight, and we've had a little more than 1 cm of rain in the last month.

Wait 2 more days. The magic has to travel to Scotland, back to Calif, on to Scotland and then to you.

And it can take some of our rain with it! - we are developing webbed feet to
dance with here in Scotland.

It doesn't seem to work in central Texas either! We danced it a week ago here in Austin, and we haven't had but 0.25" since mid May! Our lakes are less than half full, and it is just the beginning of Summer!

Well,
Sorry to be the bearer of good news, but here in the North West of Scotland we have been having reasonably good weather for a change . Less than 5% of our annual rainfall up until mid June. Has gone down hill a little since but still better than elsewhere in the UK.

Well, it's just called "Da Rain Dancin'".
But it doesn't say whether it's pro dancin'
or, ahem, contra dancin'.

I'll wait a week. Someone (seriously) suggested that next week we dance The Falls of Rogie.

I wanna dance in Stanley Park!
Simon, can you arrange for Monday 23 July to be fair, please. But, then again, it is the Delta Borderers session so I'm sure Ruth Jappy will have a word with the appropriate authorities ;o)

It worked in Vienna 2 weeks ago. We danced "Da Rain Dancing" and when we came out of the hall it had started raining ;)
Possibly local magic, since Ron has taught classes in Vienna :*)
Good luck trying!

It is the dance itself that is magic!

»Noah's Ark« might do the trick. And if the one doesn't work you could always
try the other.
Failing that, you could try the programme from the Schlüchtern ball last
Saturday, which is online at http://my.strathspey.org/dd/list/403/ . You may
have to go through all of it, since I don't know which dance was ultimately
responsible, but going home we experienced the most torrential rain ever – we
had to stop the car beside the road and wait for it to stop because it was
virtually impossible to drive. (Although I'm pretty sure it can't have been
»The Piper and the Penguin«; it would probably have snowed.)

Like cancer, fires appear unexpectedly, and fill victims with fear, grief, and
hopelessness. Western firefighting methods do not adequately meet the needs of
these victims. No one knows your house as well as you do, yet firefighters
take a very paternalistic approach, removing you from the decision-making
process, then leaving you to clean up their mess.
