It is with sadness that I pass on the news that Bill Clement has passed
away.
His experience and knowledge of music and dancing in Scotland was
immeasurable, and many of us will miss his friendly encouragement to dance,
and his cheery smile and laugh.
I feel privileged to have met, danced and talked with him. Another "end of
an era" event. I appreciate your letting us know, Fiona.

I'm so sorry to hear this news. He was a joy to speak to and had a great dancing heart.

Bill was one of the first people that made an impression at St A.
summerschool in 78 when I first arrived - one of the most endearing moments
was when he pulled me aside and said "you enjoy whisky?" - took me outside
the door of that particular party to his room beside it - passed me a glass
of laphroig and said " this is whisky" - I have been his (and Laphroaig's"
faithful servant ever since.
I'll miss him, but have such good memories - and my thoughts go to Atsuko
right now - I wish I was closer to give her a very big hug.

Sad indeed that we will not see Bill again, in person, but "HE" will remain with us always.
He leaves a great legacy of knowledge, commitment and example, to us all, embodied in a gracious soul.

With Bill's passing it is indeed the passing of an era. He was one of
'Miss Milligan's Boys' and I believe he was in the first International
Team to go abroad after WWII. He was a kind man, a gentleman and an
excellent teacher.
My wife and I met Mr. Clement at the Atholl Games in 1998. Since I pipe, too, he was a good (and kind and helpful person) person to talk to about dance piping. Our group did Lamb Skinnet tonight to his recording.

I have spoken to Atsuko and she has informed me that Bill's Funeral is to be held on Friday 29th June at Closeburn Parish Church, near Thornhill at 12.15 pm
This is for anyone who may wish, and is able to attend.
I shall be thinking of Bill and Atsuko at that time.
