Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew of any musicians who would be interested in playing for a ceilidh in Arnsberg, HSK in July 2011? I'm helping to organise a (non dancing) twinning event.
Thanks,
Seonaid

What are you looking for, a band or just a box and fiddle?. Also dates.

There are also musicians in Germany who certainly are competent enough to do
this and might be prepared to have a go.
Try some of the German groups and see if they know people.
I use local musicians here in the Netherlands and I know of musicians in
Germany. It just depends whether they are prepared to play for ceilidhs.
There's no reason why not. They need to have the repertoire to do so, that's
all and the enthusiasm to have a go.

My fiddler friend Christine and I have played for various ceilidhs, sometimes
reinforced by a box player of our acquaintance. So far we haven't heard
complaints as far as our music and enthusiasm are concerned :^)
I don't have July 2011 on my radar screen yet and as Christine is likely to be
changing jobs between now and then and we can't tell where she is going to end
up, logistics might be a bit tricky. Seonaid, do send me private e-mail if you
want to talk specifics.
