The Frisky

The tune is called Humber Jumber. The words that I know are an English
children's song. I would need to double-check the reference in one of the
collections of Iona and Peter Opie. Here they are to the best of my memory:

As I went up the Humber Jumber,
Humber Jumber jillie-o
There I met sir Hoker Poker
Carry me off carpillie-o.

If I had got my tit, my tat
My tit, my tat, my tillie-o
I would' na gar sir Hoker Poker
Carry me off carpillie-o.

If you wish to sing as you play the tune for dancing, I would recommend an
ABAB setting so as to be able to sing verse+chorus. Enjoy!
Susie
