Variable Speed Recorders

Not sure what is available across the pond as opposed to here in Europe but we
have recently bought a Phillips Karaoke machine for teaching purposes. It might
be worth considering the Karaoke section of the catalogues. Our machine has the
benefit of being in one box and having a variable speed tape deck together with
a decent sized speaker and ability to use a mike through the same box.
Disadvantages are that it does not have track finding function and is "Mono" but
this does not seem to matter too much in halls we seem to find ourselves in.

Track-finder doesn't worry us as we tend to tape individual tracks onto single
tapes so just rewind to start. It does, however, have an auxiliary input so
once enough CDs are available we can just attach a Discman.
