Hi all,
does anyone know if "Fisherman's Reel" by Sue Petyt/Gamon has a set
tune? I've consulted Alan's database and it has four recordings, using
The Mountain Road (Colin Dewar), The Backshore Hornpipe (Drummond Cook),
For a British Tar is a Soaring Soul (Ian Cruikshanks) and The Cod End
(Ian Cruikshanks again), but lists no tune for the dance, which suggests
its tune is that old stalwart "any good reel" (or maybe "any good
hornpipe"). Can anyone confirm this?
And while I'm here, can anyone tell me the tunes for "The Edmonton
Snowball" and "Skatie Shore"?
Thanks,
Ian
PS Alan - it would be nice to have a special entry of "no set tune"
to distinguish between dances where you don't know the tune and dances
for which you know there is no tune. Or doesn't the first category
exist?
