strathspey Archive: Southern Vermont Highland Games

For those who are likely to be in the New England area in mid-July, here is
an event that might be of interest to you.

The Southern Vermont Highland Games are being held for the second time on
July 14 -17, 1995. The location is near Mount Snow, and local area of West
Dover and Wilmington, VT.
There will be competitions in Piping, Drumming, Highland Dancing, etc.

Price for the Friday Dinner, Concert, and weekend booklet is $27. For the
Games, only, on Saturday and Sunday, $8. Children's prices are less. Both
prices quoted are for reservations in advance. At the gate it will be more.

I'm not sure to whom I'm sending this. Anne Leslie? But, for anyone reading
this, there will be a strathspey-reel competition at the Southern Vermont
Games, July 16. All instrumentalists (including voice, but excluding pipes,
who have plenty of their own competitions) are invited. Rules will follow
those of Scottish FIRE as closely as possible, but it will not be a
