I remember reading somewhere - I think it may have been in one of Hush
Foss' pamphlets - that the original dance was AA BB CC, where the
original first 16 bars have been compressed into 8 bars. (my printed
sources are about 500 miles from where I am at the moment, so I cannot
check the details). We danced the AA BB CC version to AA BB CC music for
a demonstration once, and liked it better than the abridged version.
