Unfortunately, I wrote too quickly, not thinking of how my writing would
appear. Please accept my apologies.

Your lengthy reply (to Oberdan) via my somewhat insulting message shows
that your concern was partly for the loss of tradition, and partly a
different attitude toward Halloween than many in the US. The response that
you gave to Oberdan was more along the lines of what I would have liked to
have encouraged, rather than to have contributed a vitriolic message to
this group.

Thank you, Oberdan, for tempering my flame and engendering an interesting
response.
