Dear all

I have become involved in the following:

A New Umbrella Organisation:

To work in partnership with cultural organisations across Scotland to build,
strengthen and support grassroots networks entitled TRACS: - Traditional
Arts and Culture Scotland

         Ealain is Cultar Traidiseanta Alba

         Airts an Tradeetions Scotland

Scotland's musicians, storytellers, singers and dancers have formed a new
Traditional Arts alliance, with the aim of weaving the different strands of
Scottish culture back together in the heart of contemporary communities.

One of the matters we have been discussing is archives - and what to do with
them - we have come to the conclusion that to start yet another one would be
pointless, as there are so many out there, so we would rather make a single
list of what is out there as a kind of one-stop-shop for archive hunters.

In order to kick-start this, I am going to start a list of archives of
Scottish Traditional Dance, which can be transferred to the website for
TRACS - and I need your help - please could you send me links to archives
that you know of, or if they are not on the net, contact details.  They can
be from anywhere in the world as long as it is about Scottish Traditional
Dance (of course if you have knowledge of Story Telling and music too - I am
not going to say no thank you. LOL)

I imagine I would need:

Name of archive:

Geographical location:

Link:

Type of archive: Old manuscripts, YouTube videos etc.

Artform:  Dance/Storytelling/music

Sub-form:  Highland/SCD/Ladies step/Historical etc.

Owner of archive:

Start date of archive:

Whether it is Active or closed:  (i.e. can one still add to the archive or
not).

Short description of content:

Name of person submitting:

If you can think of any other headings for the my list - do tell me.

Thank you for your help - please send this to xxx@xxxxxxxx.xxx

Pia
