The full version of the dance is at Dave Wiesler's website. Following the list of tunes and dances, the next page contains what appears to be the original version (along with the music for the lead tune) and clearly says: devised by Barbara Youngman. I have printed this up and used it for teaching:

If this is incorrrect, then Dave should be notified.

Brian Youngman was the deviser of "Forget Me Knot". He devised it for his wife
Barbara Youngman. I have danced this dance with the Youngmans and I know that
this is correct. Barbara is a dance teacher in North Carolina. She is also
good friends with Mara Shea and may have helped to get it recorded on the CD.
Hope that helps.

Subject: Forget Me Knot - deviser question
Dear all,
can anybody tell me who is the deviser of the 3-couple Strathspey "Forget Me
Knot" and whether there is a proper publication containing it?
There are incongruent informations on the Web about the deviser:
(a) PDF files on the webpages for the CD "Heather Hills" by its musitians Mara
Shea (http://www.marashea.com/Music.html) and Dave Wiesler
(http://www.azaleacityrecordings.com/davewiesler/disc.htm) mention Barbara
Youngman, while
(b) one can find several (mainly crib-based) sources that give Brian Youngman
(e.g. http://my.strathspey.org/dd/dance/13450/ and several ball programmes). On
the DD page it seems like Barbara was the one having verified the crib, but
Brian is the deviser...
It would be great if somebody could enlighten me ;)
All the best and a successful Year 2011,
Heiko
