Thanks to everyone who's been writing to me
about Italian music. But I
should make myself clearer: it's a dance party
I need this music for, not a
church concert nor a musicological event. It's
a Venetian carnival theme,
but for most of the evening we'll be playing
waltzes, tangoes, etc. I just
can't think what to play to set the atmosphere
as people are arriving,
though! Any ideas? (Thanks to everyone who
suggested Gabrielli, but it's
only four of us and no brass instruments....)

How about a Verdi overture? How about the
Triumphal March from Aida?
