I once belonged to a demonstraction team, and I personally get lots of
joy from dancing well with a good set, smiling at and entertaining others
without asking them for anything but their support and enjoyment. But I think
ideally, even the most "polished" demonstration would still convey the message,
"this is wonderful fun, and you could be doing it too!" to anyone in the
audience who might be tuned in to hear it. If a performance is aimed at
attracting new dancers, too much complex choreography can obscure the fun,
to the point where it comes across as "isn't this impressive!" without
being very accessible.
