Do dancers listen to the music? (was Re: Number of Tunes in a Set & Specified Recordings)

If you want to see how many dancers are actually paying attention, try
changing tunes 8 bars early (or wait for the next time it happens
accidentally) and check the expressions on the dancers faces... many
will blithely continue dancing, but some (teachers, musicians...) will
definitely start looking puzzled/worried and you might hear a whispered
"isn't the music 8 bars out?"
