Greetings all. There is an unfortunate error in my larest book Le Petit Chat
Celtique. The dance Tie-Dyed and Gone To Heaven by Trudy Roughgarden should
read:

Bars 11-14 3rd woman dance right round 1st man passing right shoulders,
while 3rd man dance right round 1st woman. 3rd couple end in second place opposite
sides.

Trudy is a remarkable deviser and I would not wish this dance to be
overlooked. This is a very clever dance. Below is a corrected copy for those who might
wish to try it out.

San Francisco Branch

Tie-Dyed and Gone To Heaven
32 bar Jig for 3 couples - Trudy Roughgarden

1-2 1st and 2nd couples dance half right hands across.

3-6 1st woman dance left round 3rd man passing left shoulders, while 1st
man dance left round 3rd woman. 1st couple end in second place
opposite sides.

7-8 2nd and 1st couples dance half right hands across, ending in original
places.

9-10 2nd and 3rd couples dance half left hands across.

11-14 3rd woman dance right round 1st man passing right shoulders, while
3rd man dance right round 1st woman. 3rd couple end in second place
opposite sides.

15-16 3rd and 2nd couple dance half left hands across ending in original
places.

17-20 1st couple cross giving right hands and cast off one place, 2nd
couple step up on bars 19 & 20.

21-24 1st woman dance between 3rd couple and cast left round into second
place on own side, while 1st man dance between 2nd couple and cast
left round into second place on own side.

25-30 1st woman with 2nd couple and 1st man with 3rd couple dance a left
shoulder reels of three across the dance, passing left shoulders with
first corners to begin (6 bars). 1st couple end in second place on own
side.

31-32 2nd, 1st and 3rd couples set. Repeat having passed a couple.

Dance Notes: On all half, right hands and left hands across couples should
"touch and go" and not hold on for more than a bar. This will allow couples to
flow into the next figure. On bar 24, 1st couple should continue to flow into
the reel without stopping in second place.

Notes: This dance devised in honor of Mike Janousek and Virginia Leslie, who
taught many of us how to tie-dye our own clothes to wear at San Francisco
Branch’s June Monthly Party in Soquel. The annual event features tie-dyed or
Hawaiian shirts and dresses as part of the color. It’s very silly and great fun.
