Could anyone give me some information on the Micmac Rotary, as John Drewry's
description of the dance does not give exact instructions.

In the second section when first and third women change places with their
contra corners, is it usual for them to retain hands? Similarly, at the end
of the 4 hands across before turning their partners?

We let go after the first cross-over, but retained them after the 4 hands
across, which seemed to work quite well, but it would be nice to know what
other people do.
