Hi all... Gaitley ... one of the grooms here (the taller, less experienced
Scottish Dancer of the two).

I am responding to several messages regarding our Union on May 7th.

Thank you for your well wishes and how nice that our Union seems to be a bit
of a buzzzzzz on the Stathspey server..? It was truly a wonderful day for us
and especially joyous because we were surrounded by so many family and
friends.... Including quite a few folks from the Scottish Dance Community!?

While we were honored/pleased to have our announcement in the NY Times we are
hoping to find someone who was actually at the ceremony/reception to write
something up detailing the day....or someone who could take our notes and write
something...mostly as an account for our scrap book.? It was such an amazing
day... one we will never forget.? There were two dances devised in our
honor..(John Drewry and Betty Lee Barnes) and a tune (Muriel Johnstone).? Also, many
honored us by calling dances, some sang folk songs, read poems, two of the
attendants are cabaret singers and shared their talents, there were rounds
sung......shape-note singing, Jim's Morris Team pearformed (Jim stepped in!) ...my
niece performed a sword dance...etc...etc.....? Not to mention the beautiful
Holy Union service by our priest.........? So many people commented on the
service and the priest's Homily.? AND, we finshed off the weekend with an early
morning church service on Sunday followed by Champagne Brunch (Thank you Lynn and
Rosalind for organizing!)

AND THE MUSIC BY MURIEL JOHNSTONE AND ELKE BAKER WAS "FANTASTIC" <-Quotes the
other groom and I second that motion!?
?
About the kilts......? No we didn't wear Kilts for the Union Ceremony......?
went with traditional morning coats....

We did, however,? change into our NEW Kilts for the dinner and dance...? I
think Chris elaborated a bit on them....? They were a collective gift from many
in the Scottish Dance community... and WHAT A GIFT!

Running out the door... but just wanted to share these thoughts...? AGAIN,
thank you for the well wishes and Lynn thank you for passing info along?? We
truly feel so very fortunate.? Our best, Gaitley and Jim
