I seem to remember from somewhere in the dim distant past that balance
in line is supposed to differ from setting in that you acknowledge first
the person on your right, and then the person on your left, by turning
toward them and smiling.
All very well to say that stepping up should be "automatic," but
automatic when? In my experience, many people like to know when to do
it, and it does look prettier if everyone does it at the same time.
For example, when during bars 17-24 of "Wild Geese" should 2C step up?
Or is there a default for it, Richard?
