I have a leaflet for Schiehallion that I obtained quite recently through SNDC.
There is no telling whether this is the original publication, but it does
give various details which are *not* in the version commonly danced here in
Germany (where Schiehallion is very popular indeed).

Anyway, to muddy the waters even more, in a Strathspey message from June 2000
(http://www.strathspey.org/archive/msg?m=21747), Priscilla Burrage hints that
the »original very limited publication« Schiehallion was a self-assembly kit
à la Hugh Foss's »Celtic Brooch«, with eighteen figures to pick and choose
from. At the time I found this very interesting but never got around to
following up on this. Does anybody know why the »original« version never got
more widely circulated? Who would one have to ask for a peek at that version?
And is Dr Thurston still around? (Incidentally he wrote a book on
archaeoastronomy that I found very nice so he seems to be a man of many
talents.)
