Whenever I have particularly enjoyed a teacher or a musician at a
Day-school or W/E I have always told them so on the spot. If I
don't manage that I have always tried to write to them and tell them
so. It only takes a small effort.
One excellent fun teacher responded to such a letter and said it
was the first time anyone had bothered to do so. Unbelievable!
