Yes, indeed: Jean Milligan started the SCDS at the suggestion of Cecil Sharp,
who said he thought it inappropriate for her to return to Scotland and teach
the Scots the ECD's she had learned at College in England: better far, he
said, to teach Scottish Dances in Scotland, and start a Scottish Dance Society!
