I have to constantly remind movers to be carefull
when they see the two trunks containing my hard copy.
Have you ever tried to lift 3.75 cubic feet of solid
paper? Remember those reams of paper banks used to
have when they checked your account. You know the
ones with the tear off tracks on both sides. In code,
each dance takes at least one line of print. The HQ
copies were delivered in the same type boxes the
printer paper comes in. My original database was on
80 column "Hollerith" cards, not difficult when you
figure that I had a 5 letter "word" for each figure,
so the choreography for a 32 bar dance only took up
20 of the 80 columns. I know the punch cards are gone
because St Andrews wrote me when they got rid of the
card file drawers and asked permission to dispose of
the cards. But between 78 and 86 the dances were on
line.
