Just as many words have come into English from other
languages, the same is also true of Scots and Gaelic.
While in the dance context I prefer |je-TAY| to |JE-
tee|, words like "tassie (as in Silver ...)", of
whatever origin have become part of the Scots
language and should not be subject to French rules.
So when I hear "Bon Accord", I am more likely to
think of a soft drink than a bonnie Aberdonian who is
agreeable.
