This is a recent (and true) story.

I got e-mail the other day from the president of our group forwarded
from someone who was looking for the source of a dance called The
Scottish Lacroix (note the definite article:->) This sort of stuff gets
forwarded to me because I have a well-deserved reputation as a
knowledgeable person (some might say a know-it-all).

Lacroix is a bottled water made in this state (in the section known as
God's Country, which I don't doubt for a minute exists many other places
on this earth). A little searching produced a decent match,
phonetically: Laphroaig (bottled water of life).

My message containing this inspired guess crossed in cyberspace,
however, with another message apologizing for mistaking the supposed
title of this dance. Actually, the writer said, the dance was called
The Rose Lacroix. OK, try again.

You all have three guesses as to the title I suggested the second time
around.

The moral of this story is that SCD teachers, as the dancing population
ages rapidly, should speak LOUD AND CLEAR and articulate their words
(especially the names of dances) with GREAT PRECISION. Now I have to go
find my cane, if I can remember where I left it.

Mike
