With regard to Irene's idea of forwarding some version of our discussions
to the RSCDS HQ, I don't really agree. I think Irene has summarised the
discussions beautifully (with the exception of the French naming of
figures debate ;->>). However, I don't think that we can really say that
our discussions represent the entire readership of this list. The most we
can say is that they summarise the views of a number of individuals, and
the number involved is not as high in quantity as it is in quality. For
those of us who are members of the RSCDS it is up to us to get our views
represented at the AGMs by our branch representatives! I think I would
prefer them to be the means of approach to the centre.

I am trying very hard to get our own representative linked up to the
internet. A difficult task ;->
