Even as a percussionist I have to agree that some recordings and bands
use far more snare drum than I would care for. I like it used in moderate
form where the melody and accompanist can be heard well above the rattle.
This goes back to my orginal thought about making good recordings. Bodhran is
also used in SCD music with some positive effects. But over use lessens the
drama of the drum. SCD music should have life and drama.
