I beg to disagree; providing you know how to dance a "double reel of four",
and "set and 4 points", and providing you have a partner who knows what to
do, then the dance is not difficult - it may go wrong if the other six
dancers go wrong, but that is true of any 4 couple dance. When the dance
was popular I successfully got several inexperienced dancers through the
dance without even a walk though - (they were good enough to take directions
"on the hoof") - as the double reel of in "Angus" takes 12 bars, as opposed
to the 8 in "Bonnie Lass of B.A.", it is in some ways easier to dance; of
course if some of the dancers try to dance it in less than 12 there can be
problems!
