Hello from sunny and warm Chicago. I have a Scottish history question that
I hope the various list experts will be able to answer. First, a little
background. Last year, I picked up a copy of A. Morrison's 'Whaur's Yer
Wullie Shakespeare Noo?', Scotland's Millennium Souvenir. An interesting
little book that has one uniquely Scottish historical or cultural event
listed for each of the years since 1000 to the present. I recalled a
mention of Donald Bane in reading the book and pulled the note up again
when I put the dance on a social program for this evening. The book
mentions Donald Bane in a couple of places: brother of Malcolm III, became
Donald III on Malcolm's death, etc. The book also says he was known as
Donald Bane, 'The Fair'. So, is this the same Donald referred to in the
dance Fair Donald?

Thanks in advance,
Noel Chavez
