Nothing like empirical testing: at the Jakarta Highland Gathering last =
weekend, I tried the recommendation of silk socks (standard Chinese =
issue ex Chinese Arts & Crafts, HK) under the kilt hose, and cannot =
recommend it too highly. Living in kilt, hose, etc. for around 3 days =
in a tropical climate would normally be very testing, but with silk =
inner socks were a great success.
So, incidentally, was the Gathering. If anyone out there who is not =
familiar with the Gathering has an opportunity to visit next year, take =
it without hesitation. Visiting teams, e.g. ours from Bangkok, were =
looked after superbly.
