The Reel of Three discussion has been interesting. Both those who think it
to be too simple to require a theory, and those interested in theory, might
like to look out for a copy of ' Flowing Reels and Proud Poussettes ' by
Robert E. Glover, 1988. This contains 10 pages - of quite small
rint - and 16 diagrams, on the basic theory of a simple right shoulder
Reel of Three. It arrives at the concept of the 'Axis of Tilt' of the
perfect Reel, permitting all three dancers to dance indefinitely, at the
same speed, without collision - one of the earliest mentions I have seen
of this in print.
