Eye Contact at the end of the dance

At the end of a dance, after the bow and curtsey between partners,
I like to say "Thank You" to all the others in the set, by a gesture,
eye contact and smiling to show I enjoyed their company (and
sometimes I want to apologize for a blunder too).

What a pity that so many turn away and look elsewhere, and
deprive themselves of that moment of friendship and mutual
appreciation.
