Take the dance and try it to a lot of different tunes.
Try the dance to a tune you just love.
Have different musicians play the dance, ie fiddle, accordion, piano, with
different tunes.
Whatever works the best, then that will be the tune/meter for the dance.
There are tunes that wait years before a dance fits them, and the other way
around. The perfect match is a dance that is structured in the same way that
the tune flows, ie Petronella and Davy Davy Knick Knack.
