David Le Brocque, a fellow member of the Caledonians SCD club in Brisbane,
has written a number of dances that are gaining popularity amongst we
banana-benders (inhabitants of Queensland). He has agreed that they be
published to a wider audience on the Strathspey list, asking only that
people let him know what they think of them. David does not have email, but
I will naturally relay any response posted to the list or sent to me

The first dance is:

FAIRGROUND FROLIC

for the Milton SCD Club, whose area becomes a fairground for 3 days for the
Annual Spring Fair at Spring Hill, Brisbane.

By David Le Brocque. Hornpipe 3 couple / 3 x 48

1-8
___
1st, 2nd, 3rd couples dance right hands across and left hands across back to
place '6 hands'

9-16
____
1st couple face down, 2nd couple face up. Join near hands with partners and
SET.
1st turn the 2nd couple by right hands, 2nd couple finish facing down.
3rd couple face up. Join near hands and SET
2nd turn 3rd couple by left hands

17-24
_____
1st, 2nd and 3rd couples dance right shoulder reels of three on own side.
2nd give right shoulder to 1st couple to begin.
All finish facing in.

25-32 "Fuguette"

25-26 1st couple SET
27-28 1st couple turn by right hands and stay in the middle. 2nd couple SET
29-30 2nd couple turn by right hands and stay in the middle. 3rd couple SET
31-32 3rd couple turn by right hands and stay in the middle

33-40

1st, 2nd and 3rd couples dance a three (3) couple poussette

40-48

2nd, 3rd and 1st couple dance six hands round and back.
