I have recently been revcommended a version of Lord Maclay's Reel to use
for a demonstration. This version is 48 bars long, whereas the reference =
the DanceData Index shows only 40 bars. There are several recordings and
each of them is also 4 repeats of 40 bars.
Referring to the two copies of the dance that I have - a single sheet cop=
from an unknown source and the Collins Pocket Book - also has only 40 bar=
This version has an additional pas-de-basque and coupe setting on the
sidelines after the hands round and back.
Does anyone know of the 48 bar version and where it has come from?
