Dear Sylvia,
This made me remember one of our very first dances in Maberly a couple
of years ago. We invited spectators to dance various dances which we
named participation dances, Strip the Willow was one. One of our local
weekly newspapers the Perth Courier misprinted Strip the Willow to Strip
the Widow. We ended up with 75 dancers and 72 spectators including the
Mayor of Perth. I always wondered if they were disappointed!
