Sorry can't agree with this.
Scottish country dancing is not a sterile unchanging series of figures
to be taught, practiced and ever repeated in an unchanging menner.
Dancers must take the opportunity to improvise to enjoy themselves and
explore the nooks and crannies of the dances. Just because someone
devised a dance a particular way doesn't mean it cant be improved or
varied creatively during performance.
Which is exactly what dancers do as a matter of course and it is that
chemistry that can develop within the set that can make each dance
special.
