This is a case where you can only please some of the people and not all of the
people. My wife and I enjoy a waltz at the end of a dance because it gives
us a chance to dance with each other alone and not with a set. On the
occasions where a set waltz was done, like Waltz Country Dance, we generally
have sat out (and headed for the food) or waltzed by ourselves off in a corner.

I realize that it is unfair for the unpartnered dancers to have a waltz, but it
is also unfair to us who have (or find) partners to have a set waltz since the
waltz at the end of the dance is one of the few chances we get to waltz
together.
