Hello all, a question - our dance group has a dance demonstration in two weeks. The space
available is very small - you can just about fit a eight couple set, but with very little room to
spread out.
What would be some good dances to do? The small space eliminates dances like The Dhoon,
for example - when the dancers have to slip step on the side, there is no where to go, so
every one just piles up together. You can't do dances that require lead down the middle and
back, because again the dancing couple hits the end of the set and has to stop. Any dance in
fact that requires the dancers to dance outside the perimeter defined by the dancers will not work
in this small space.
On the other hand, dances that keep everyone together may look awful from the audience's view -
just a small knot of dancers trying to manuever around each other.
Short of knocking down walls, any suggestions? Any dances that fit in a tight space and that
also look good?
Thanks, Todd Pierce
